Founded in 1915, the Rhode Island Music Education Association is a federated state association of the NAfME. We are a non-profit organization that plays a significant role in representing all phases of music education in the schools, colleges, and universities within the state of Rhode Island.


RIMEA/RI-ACDA Reopening Guidance for PK-12 Music Classrooms

The Reopening Guidance Document was posted on June 30, 2020.

This document serves to provide guidance for the wide variety of music classes in the state, and to ensure alignment with the RIDE Reopening Framework. It is organized into 3 main sections: (1) Curriculum/Instruction and Supports; (2) Reopening Operations; and (3) Health and Safety with Classroom Set-Up and Materials. In addition, the following PK-12 music education teaching scenarios are addressed: General Music, Choral Ensembles, Instrumental Ensembles, and Middle & High School Classroom Music.
